Dear Hiring Manager, My name is Ignacio Maldonado, and I'm writing to express my interest in joining your winery for the upcoming vintage season. I'm 27 years old and originally from Uruguay. I'm currently working as a Vintage Cellar Hand at Badischer Winzerkeller in Breisach, Germany. Prior to this, I worked at Indevin in New Zealand from 2022, where I progressed from Cellar Hand to Red Cellar Supervisor, Lees Supervisor, and most recently General Cellar Supervisor during my last vintage. Throughout my time in the wine industry, I have gained hands-on experience across the full winemaking process, from grape receival and fermentation through to wine transfers, lees management, filtration, cellar operations and barrel ageing. I also have experience supervising teams, coordinating cellar operations, training other staff, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently in fast-paced vintage environments. I have experience operating and working with a wide range of winemaking equipment and processes, including High Solids Filtration systems (Della Toffola OMNIA), RDVs, SPX Centrifuge Filtration, CrossFlow, Sterile Filtration, and Bucher and Della Toffola presses. I enjoy working as part of a team and thrive in busy environments where flexibility, communication and attention to detail are essential. I'm always willing to learn, adapt to new situations and contribute wherever needed. Returning to New Zealand for another vintage would be a great opportunity to continue developing my skills and contribute my previous experience to a new team. I would also be very interested in learning different winemaking practices and gaining experience in another winery environment. Thank you for considering my application.
